In Accion por Venezuela and Humanitarian Action we work for the wellness of children and teenagers who live in rural areas in conditions of extreme poverty. We assist them three main areas: food, health and education. We are committed to reducing child malnourishment and promoting literacy as a means of overcoming poverty.
Each dollar counts.
You can change the live of a child by donating the monthly amount that you decide. We commit ourselves to make the most of your contribution and provide you with tools that make you feel part of the development of the child you sponsor.
Your donation will not be given directly to the family of your sponsored boy or girl. It will be handled by our programs of food, health, education, and in general, to the care of the boy or girl within his/her family and community. Experience has shown that programs that strengthen family and community are a key to the success of our work.
As soon as you sponsor a child you will be sent a self-portrait of the child and of his/her situation. For security reasons photos will not be provided.
At the end of the school-year you will get a report of the general progress of the child. You will get a card in December made by your sponsored child.
Letters, mails and visits are welcome through the channels of our organization. Even though your direct communication is not a requirement, it is certainly a major boost to the child self-esteem and for the child to feel that he/she has a place in the world. Your encouragement will give them hope and confidence in themselves and in the world around them.
To avoid unfair comparisons, we ask you to not to send presents.
Our commitment is to make the most of the resources to insure the comprehensive wellness and development of all the children who are part of our programs. Our administrative expenses do not exceed 10% of the contributions. 90% of the resources are directed to our programs. We also count with a group of volunteers.
Your commitment to help a child overcome the dire consequences of poverty and exclusion will last as long as you decide. Over the months you will be able to see the child’s progress, and hopefully, until the child can stand up for himself-herself and be able to contribute to the community.
Years of experience has shown us, that generosity, not only transforms the live of the children, but also the lives of their sponsors.
Depending on the capacity to donate of the sponsors, each child will have one or two sponsors to cover the needs and objectives established.
